Position Summary

This position is for a Sr. Manager, IT Infrastructure to manage the IT network (including active directory, exchange, routing, switching, firewalls, WAN acceleration, telecom (including video conferencing, and audio/visual), infrastructure servers, and disaster recovery environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Exchange email, storage, and email achieving solution. 
  • Create & maintain detailed network documentation.
  • Setup and manage Windows servers and virtual server performance, file server capacity and licensing.
  • Work closely with parent company in Japan to provide IT governance, establish effective infrastructure design and enterprise architecture, and implement security, privacy and compliance processes.
  • Data Center Operations: Company uses co-location at a 3rd-party data center. Assist in managing the company servers and network equipment within the space and coordinate with the vendor as needed for additional space and smart hands support.  Manage the IT computing and network resources to ensure the Company is able to deliver the IT resources needed across its network both internally and externally.
  • Problem Management: Ensure the enterprise production organization provides effective technology support and problem management services. This function includes development of proactive processes for problem detection, reporting, tracking, and measurement.
  • Performance Management & Monitoring: Monitor network, security and capacity with relevant network and monitoring technologies maintaining stable operations and address concerns and issues before they happen.
  • Systems Availability Management: Develop and manage processes designed to meet or exceed services levels for application availability.
  • Capacity Management: Create and manage forecasting processes designed to ensure computing, network, support, and other infrastructure capabilities are adequate for business environment needs.
  • Maintenance & Configuration Management: Ensure effective processes are in place to continuously refresh infrastructure, maintain proper release levels, and proactively apply security patches.
  • Disaster Recovery: Support the disaster recovery project and manage updates to keep the environment up to date.  Participate in testing of the environment.
  • Vendor Management: Work with IT infrastructure vendors.  Ensure successful relationship is maintained with vendor.
  • Participate in the budgeting and reforecasting process supporting the Associate Director, Network Infrastructure and Security anticipating needs for infrastructure expansion, maintenance, refresh, licensing, etc.
  • Closely work with the IT group of the HQ in Japan on various projects
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 6 - 8 years’ experience in information technology with at least 2 - 3 years in a regulated  industry requiring adherence to strict change control
  • Must have hands on technical experience in supporting Active Directory, Windows Servers, Exchange, Storage Area Networks & Cisco Network Switches
  • Experience with building environment following Installation Qualification or pre-established well documented procedures
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and remote teams
  • Experience in all traditional infrastructure areas, including: data centers, network, planning and engineering, support, deployment, and disaster recovery planning and storage capacity.
  • Broad knowledge of data processing systems, concepts, and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing LAN, WAN, and SAN technologies, including network-based high availability components.

Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies and infrastructure developments.
